Screencast by Jim and Keegan

Grade 5 & 6 have been working on different way to present a “procedure” using ICT. The purpose of procedural writing is to tell someone how to do something. The most common form of a procedure is a recipe but it can be instructions for many different things such as solving a maths problem, drawing a picture or playing a game. The information is presented in a logical sequence of events which is broken up into small steps. The students were asked to present a procedure rather than simply write one.
They planned and practiced their instructions using the computer to screencast and record the audio narration. Below is one example of how inventive the students have been with their “PROCEDURAL TEXTS”.
